Mandy and Travis Krause have been practicing regenerative grazing together on their multigenerational family ranch outside San Antonio, Texas, since 2011. Travis is also a Founder and the CEO of Grazing Lands.

Travis will share his real-world experience managing a regenerative livestock operation. This workshop will include a pasture walk and discussion, to cover these topics and more:

  • Infrastructure for grazing management
  • Herd management
  • Balancing herd size, timing, animal impact and people
  • Understanding forage supply and demand
  • Optimizing stocking rate for ecological impact and profit
  • Animal performance matters: establishing baselines and KPIs

NCAT Agriculture Specialist Darron Gause will share about NCAT’s Soil for Water project, a project that is working to catch and hold more water in our soil.

Farmers, ranchers, NRCS agents, Cooperative Extension agents, and other ag educators and technical service providers are invited to join us for this on-farm workshop.

This workshop is free, but please RSVP to reserve your spot. A barbeque lunch will be provided. Please contact Darron Gaus at darrong@ncat.org if you have special dietary requirements.

Funds are available to cover mileage costs in order to make this workshop more accessible to more people. If travel costs are a concern, please contact Nina Prater at ninap@ncat.org to find out about how to be reimbursed for mileage.
